Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!

Dear Emerson Families,

Welcome to another exciting school year at Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary School, home of the Bulldogs!

As I begin my fourth year as Principal of Emerson Elementary, I am incredibly honored and grateful to continue serving this amazing school community. It is a privilege to collaborate with our amazing students, enthusiastic staff, and supportive families as we cultivate a school where academic excellence, meaningful relationships, and emotional well-being are at the heart of everything we do.

Emerson is truly a special place because of the people who make it such a welcoming community. Our outstanding office staff, exceptional Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade teachers, talented special education & resource team, dedicated instructional aides, a caring school counselor, hardworking supervision staff, custodians, and our Woodcraft Rangers after-school program are all committed to supporting your child every step of the way.

As we enter the third year of our Community Schools initiative, we look forward to strengthening our partnerships with families and the community while continuing to build a solid foundation for student success. Together, we are committed to empowering every student by fostering academic growth, developing student agency, and supporting their social and emotional well-being. Our staff remains dedicated to providing an engaging, safe, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

As partners in your child's education, we encourage you to support learning at home by:

  • Ensuring your child attends school every day and arrives on time, ready to learn.
  • Supporting classroom and homework expectations.
  • Reading with your child for at least 20 minutes each day to build literacy skills and foster a lifelong love of reading.
  • Talking with your child daily about their school experiences.
  • Establishing healthy routines at home, including consistent bedtime schedules and appropriate limits on screen time.
  • Discussing responsible technology use and online safety.

I deeply value open communication and collaboration with all members of our school community. Together, we can provide an enriching educational experience that helps every student reach their fullest potential.

As we prepare to welcome students back on Thursday, August 20, 2026, I am filled with excitement for the year ahead. This school year is especially meaningful as we begin celebrating Emerson's incredible journey toward our 100th Anniversary in 2027. Throughout the year, we will honor our rich history while embracing the bright future that lies ahead.

Our 2026–2027 school theme is:

Back to the Future
Rooted in Our Past.

Driven by Our Future.

Together as One Community.
