Dress Code Reminders

📢 Emerson Elementary Dress Code – 2025–2026
At Emerson, we want students to feel comfortable, safe, and ready to learn every day. Please help us by following our dress code.
✅ What’s OK
• Clothes that fit well (not too baggy, not too tight)
• Shirts that cover the midriff, even when stretching or sitting
• Straps wider than a tank top’s thin straps
• Closed-toe shoes that fit well
• Hats/caps worn outside only (plain colors encouraged)
• Short, clean nails for safety
🚫 What’s NOT OK
• Plunging necklines, shirts with holes showing skin, midriff tops, or mini-tees
• Undergarments showing
• Long or acrylic nails
• Clothing with weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or crude/discriminatory messages (e.g., “Cookies,” “Backwoods” gear)
• CROCS or shoes with sling-back straps
• Hats inside the classroom
⚠ If dress code is broken:
Parents will be called for a change of clothes. Repeated violations may lead to loss of activities, field trips, or a Saturday school assignment.
Thank you for helping us keep Emerson a safe and respectful place to learn!
